Sprayed Clock

Today, I'm showing how fantastic the Fireworks Sprays work with stencils.

I laid down the stencil and then sprayed a few colors (dandelion, lady bug, grape jelly, paris dusk, danube blue) onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock. I dig the shimmer!

I inked up the focal image, Stamp-It-Australia EZMount™ Stamp - Valued Time, with Radiant Neon ink pads electric purple, stamped onto  Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heat set.

Next, I cut the sprayed design sheet into A2 size pieces and laid all my pieces out to decide what to use for my final project.  I made the other colorful pieces with Radiant Neon ink pads and a stencil.  I'll have a post on May 9th that shows how I made them - more fun with color! :)  Please come back and visit!

I dig the shimmer and nice blending of colors.

Blog Hop Designers Blogs....
Here's my design featuring an image from Marching Elephant

I stamped the elephant  image onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and stamped it two more times on design papers - including Sheena's A Little Bit Oriental - Papercrafting Collection - Luxury Designer Paper Pad

I cut out the pieces, edged them with a black water based marker, and added some detail with a white gel pen, paint, and Spectrum Noir blendable colored pencils  (050, 051, 118).

After everything dried, I assembled all the pieces and layers. I used Spectrum Noir blendable colored pencils (114, 118) to give a little shading to his tusks, tail, and grounding on the white base piece.

New Sheena Sneak Peek!!

For the next few days the Crafter's Companion Education Team is going to be featuring designs with a new release called A Taste of India from Sheena!   This images is from Tiger Tiger.

I stamped this fabulous tiger image onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and then placed a mask over him to build the scene around him.

To build color I am sponging with Distress Ink Pads.  Using masking and varying color, you can create a whole scene around one image. I'm starting at the top and working my way down.  Using a torn pieced of paper to give interest to the sky, tumbled glass ink and a sponge, I pulled color across the card in a horizontal direction- I actually turned the cardstock 90 degrees and pull the color from the "top to the bottom" - which is really side to side in the scene.

Next for some foliage/greenery way off in the distance of the background, I chose crushed olive and forest moss.

For the ground, I sponged in frayed burlap and tea dye. I pulled in color from the sides, leaving a highlight in the enter. I also pressed harder with some strokes to give a little bit of line and texture. At this point I was finished with the back ground so I removed the mask over the tiger.

To fill in color on the tiger, I used a stylus to apply spiced marmalade.   For detail areas such as his eyes, add shading, and to sharpen some colors, I used Spectrum Noir blendable colored pencils (008, 046, 049, 074, 092).

Crafter's Companion April Challenge - Floral theme

This month's Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog theme is Floral theme.  I knew right away which set I was going to use - Paint Fusion Stamp Set - Tulip

I  started with coloring the sky using Distress inks and a blender tool onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock - this is my base piece. I made the cloud template with a scalloped die cut.

I stamped the flower images over the sky, now worrying about overlap as I knew I was going to paper piece over the base. I stamped  the images second time onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock.

Next I colored with Distress ink pads and a stylus tool, blending colors by lightly building color directly on the cardstock. Starting with the lightest color, I colored the entire image. Next, I added the darker color and darkest color, then came back in and blended with the lightest color. I colored both the base and pieces to be cut out. As you can see, I didn't worry too much about staying inside the lines for the images I was planning to cut out. :o)

I colored the stems with my Spectrum Noir MarkersCG1 and CG2.
Distress ink pads used:
leaves: shabby shutters, forest moss
pedals: mustard seed, spiced marmalade, fired brick

After cutting out the pieces, I edged them with a black water-based marker. I adhered the pieces at bottom portion of the image. After it dried, I bent them up. This adds wonderful dimension to a single layer base.  I trimmed the base layer to allow some of the tulip and leaf to go outside the boarder - I dig going outside sometimes!

Shout Out:  My design was inspired by a video by Vicky P. She's so creative and has great tips! You can see the video here.
