Say It Loud

This week I'm working on a design with one of the fun new word stamps from the Say It Loud! line.

The set is called Sing Dance Set (Sku#4227). I found the perfect image to go with it - the sassy elephant from the  Elephant Set (Sku#4191)

I stamped both images on design paper and stamped them a second time on Cryogen and colored with my Copic Markers. I cut out pieces of the images from the design paper.

After gluing the design pieces in place, I cut around each image. I used a black water based marker to edge the images and adhered them to the card.

I stamped the sentiment that comes with the Sing Dance set. Doesn't she look like the type of elephant to stay out all night? ;o)

Art Impressions Challenge - "Bling it On" - All things sparkly

This week's Art Impressions Blog challenge is  "Bling it On" - All things sparkly.

I used this Jumbo Dancer (Sku#T4182) who has Style (Sku#D3469) .

This is my go-to design. :o)  It's simple and clean, yet elegant and classy.  I stamped her twice - on white card stock and on the design paper.   She's wearing a lovely sparkly necklace, and has lots of bling in her dress, purse and hat. The whole pack has bling and is designed by Donna Estabrooks.

I colored her with my Copic Markers.  I cut out her dress, purse and front part of her hat and adhered the pieces with a liquid adhesive. On the inside, I layered the sentiment over matching design paper and added two butterflies.  Her necklace are small stickers to set off her outfit and she is ready to step out in style!

Country Music Song

This week I'm working on creating a little scene with my "go to" stamps.

You probably have your "go to" stamps also.  The stamps you use when you need a quick card - that occasion you just remembered, or your children you told you about. :o)  I just grab the Ai wooden fence, some grass,  and with any image and I can make a quick cute card.

First, I stamped and colored this poor tied up giraffe and the fence. The fence is so easy to color! Just give it a little shading and it's ready!  I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color - love them...such vibrant colors and fun to blend!

Next I cut out the fence and base card. I laid my fence at the bottom of the card and drew a pencil line to show where to cut. I down the seam and across.

All that was left was to stamp the clouds and grass on the blue sky. I adhered everything, stamped the perfect little sentiment to match his expression and it was ready!

Right On Schedule - A New Ai Zoo Crew Set

Hello Ai Fans! This week I'm working on a card featuring another new Ai Zoo Crew set! I am loving these new images!!  They will be available on line at the end of August.

I inked up this relaxing feline with a watermark ink pad, stamped it on watercolor paper, sprinkled with emboss powder and heat set. I then scribbled markers onto a pallet and "painted' him and cut him out.

For the background I created an outdoor scene for him. I left die cut around a piece of  X-press cardstock for a thin white boarder. I put a little piece of tape in two corners, on the back of the die cut to keep the paper in place.  I used craft white ink for the clouds. I masked the clouds and airbrushed color on the sky and ground. I stamped random grass, using the Marvy markers for my ink. I used a light grey marker to darken the bottom of the clouds.

On the inside, I stamped the cloud, grass and sentiment.

It's ok....One More Sneak Peek

Hello Ai Fans! This week I'm working on another sneak peek. This cute elephant set is from the Art Impressions summer CHA release and is part of the AI Zoo Crew.

I stamped the elephant image on Cryogen cardstock and on the design cardstock.  From the design cardstock, I cut out her dress, hat and purse.  I used markers to color her body, glasses and flower.  I also colored around the edge of her dress and accessories with a color that matched the design cardstock.

I cut out the main image with a die cut, glued all the pieces on and added a little bling to the flower with a glitter pen.  TIP: for paper piecing, use a liquid glue which allows more time to get the pieces in place.  On the inside, I adhered the sentiment layered on the same black cardstock (Club Scrap) as the outside -  if you look closely, you can see the texture.  I also added a little flower punched out of the design cardstock.

This set is available at a store near you, on the Art Impressions website August 30!

Make that a Double, Please

Isn't he adorable?  I love his expression.  Here's a sneak peek in a line called AI Zoo Crew. The giraffe and sentiment are part of the Art Impressions CHA summer release. I colored him with Tombow Dual Brush Pens (603 and N00). I attended a class with Bonnie and Kate last week at Creative Cuts and Crafts in Elmhurst and this is one of the cards we made. We had a ball! There are so many cute images in the release! Please check with your local stamp or scrap booking store for availability.
