In The Tub

This week I'm hanging out with Girlfriends in the tub.

This card features images from the In the Tub set of 4 (Sku#3570). I colored the girls with Copic markers and used a multiliner pen to add some details to bathing suit top and earrings.   These 'Sisters' are full of life and so much fun to color!

I used  glitter pens to add a little bling in spots and layered some of the fabulous papers from GF Card Kit 2 (Sku#4303). I also used embellishments from the kit.

On the inside, I added design paper and stamped a sentiment from the set.

Come back tomorrow to see what awesome project Crystal has to share!

Creating a Subtle Background with Spectrum Noir Ink Refills

Today, I'm sharing a subtle colorful scene featuring images  from  Sheena A Little Bit Sketchy Set - Spring and Sheena -a little bit scenic Silhouette Garden.

To make this scene, I stamped the images onto semi-glossy cardstock with a watermark ink pad, sprinkled with embossing powder and heat set.

To create the subtle background, I spritzed a paper towel with alcohol, dropped Spectrum Noir ink refills and pulled color from the top of the scene to bottom. Colors used:  DG2, PL2, PP4, TB4.

To give the flowers a little color, I dripped a little ink onto an acrylic block used a paint brush. I also brushed green over the leaves.  The embossed part of the images act as a resist, and any color fills in around it.

There are so many fun techniques you can do with the ink refills!

Art Impressions Challenge - Layer It Up! Lots of Layers!

This week's Art Impressions Blog challenge is Layer It Up! Lots of Layers!

What came up for me was layers of color and texture.  Last week I bought a gelli plate and have been watching lots of you tube videos on techniques. :o) AND THEN, I saw a beautiful design Dina shared on her blog - you can see it here.  So when I saw the words "layers," paint/ink and texture popped into my mind. :o)

I started with a piece of Cryogen cardstock. I just love the subtle sparkle that comes through the coloring. I spritzed with water and then added blue and green inks. I laid a piece of cling wrap over it and an acrylic block to hold it down.

To add texture, I used a variety of things - a stencil, a thingy that was put around a wine bottle I bought and of course, bubble wrap. :o)

For my focal image, I used images from the Heart Set (Sku#4217) - stamped them in white, sprinkled with white emboss powder, heat set and cut them out.

For a few added details, I used a white pen to create a double line boarder frame, and also to frame the hearts on the front.  I popped up the top heart.

On the inside I added one of the hearts I cut out and sentiment from the set.

He Loves His Yard

This week I'm working on a card for a man's man - a man that loves yard work and being outside.

The Lawn Ranger (Sku#T4095) is that kind of man. You can just tell that he enjoys riding around the yard creating the perfect pattern in the grass that shows his crafty workmanship.   I colored him with Copics.

I matched the image with complimentary yard fitting pattern paper and used a die cut to add some grass under him. He just looks so happy!
