Big Score Tutorial - Sweet Treat Dispenser

This colorful treat dispenser is a great way to share sweets.

It's easy and fun to make!

Start with decorations - die cut flowers from flower die in Crafter's Inspiration - Issue 6 Spring Edition.  Before removing the die from the cardstock, sponge on color with Distress Ink Pads worn lipstick, broken china, spiced marmalade and Sponge Daubers.

To create the base, position The Big Score with the curved edge at the top, on the inches side. Place the long edge of a 12 x 18 inch piece of cardstock against Box Lid rest
Score at the 2¾, 5½, 8¼ and 11 inch marks

Rotate 90 degrees counter-clockwise - the thinnest space should be at the top. Score at ¾ and 3½ inch marks.

Rotate 180 degrees. Score at 1 and 3¾ inch marks. Score the lowest full panel at the 4¾ inch mark (the one next to the glue flap). TIPs: Trace the score line down to the bottom of the board, then place the card and score. You can also place a ruler down as a guide.

With a pencil, draw the pieces that will be cut, using the score lines as your guide. It does not have to be perfect.

Cut away the pieces as shown.

Crease and burnish all of the score lines.

Decorate box using the negative cut from the flower die as a stencil. Randomly sponge in color with Distress Ink Pads worn lipstick, broken china, spiced marmalade.

After the ink has dried, turn the piece over, fold the small 1 inch scored section back in on itself and adhere with Extra Strong Permanent Tape Runner.

Stick the long side flap, glue flap, in place with Red Liner Tape. Adhere the two bottom flaps onto the inside of the box base.

Cut two long thin pieces of cardstock, 10 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches to tape inside the sides of the dispenser - for added strength.

Using the smallest circle die cut from Die'sire Essentials Dies - Circles, cut out a circle shape on coordinating cardstock. Attach the circle to the edge of the dispenser flap adhering it well. Use a self adhesive hook and loop dot to secure the drawer closed to contain the sweets.

Add ribbon and flowers to decorate. The sentiment and texture emboss folder are also from the Crafter's Inspiration - Issue 6 Spring Edition.
