Colorful Journal Page

I'm creating in my journal today!

I used a plastic card to put down a thin layer of gesso and allowed it to dry completely. Next I added color using daubers, sweepers, spray inks, mixed media ink, and stencils. I stayed in the blue and green family.  NOTE: I moved the stencil up to extend the height of the trees. I also used a paper towel to dab off extra color and then dab in other places.

I used the stencils and a baby wipe to gently rub out some of the color. TIP: you get this effect when you lay gesso down first.  I added background text and a lovely lady that I colored with pencils. I used texture stamps to add some interest.

For a final element on the page, I drew in a close up of a face.

Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes

Crafter's Companion is sponsoring Party Time Tuesday for the February Anything Goes Challenge. I have the pleasure of participating as a Guest Designer.

My design features images from Stamp-It Australia EZMount Stamp Set Spring - Dreamy Daisies.

I inked up the flower image with a Memento LUXE Ink Pad tuxedo black, stamped onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstocksprinkled emboss powder and heat set.  I added color with Spectrum Noir Ink Refills CT1, CT3, GB6 and a paintbrush - the colors are so pretty and rich.  I worked in one area at a time filling in color, cleaning my brush with alcohol in-between colors.

NOTE: the ink will dry fast so it's best to work in one area at a time.
TIP: If you need to lighten an area or if you get ink someplace you don't want it, use the Spectrum Noir Marker Blender.

The base card is Shimmering Cards yellow pearl.  I stamped images randomly using an India ink pad. I layered the focal image over Shimmering Cardstock black pearl and used The Ultimate Tool to make that perfect little bow. The sentiment is embossed to make it really pop.

Die Cut Windows

My design today features one of the newly released  Die'sire Decorative Die sets.

I used the Die'sire Decorative DiesForget Me Not~Myosotis. to create the flower windows through the front of a Shimmering Card pearl black.

Next, I created the colorful layer with Spectrum Noir Ink Refills
BT1, LV3, TB5, BT9 on High Gloss Cardstock. I used High Gloss Cardstock Unscored - 8.5" x 5.5" - pre-cut sheets makes it easy to do just one cut to perfectly fit inside my black layer. I sprayed alcohol, then dripped in color. I spritzed again, tilted the cardstock around and "kissed" another piece of cardstock to spread and blend the colors.

The sentiment is from Sentimentals EZMount Stamp Set - Love is all you need. I stamped it with Memento LUXE Ink Pads wedding white, sprinkled embossing powder and heat set.

On the inside I folded a piece of High Gloss Cardstock Unscored - 8.5" x 5.5" to cover the inky backside and also provide an area for the note. Too carry the theme inside, I added a couple of the die cut flowers.
