Peacefull Scene

I am digging these new Stamp-It images! Love the possibilities! I started this little scene by stamping the image onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock for Alcohol Markers.  I then applied distress inks with a blender tool and foam, pulling the color from outside in and leaving some highlight in the center. I used the lightest blue first and applied to both sky and water, I ran a light line all the way across the horizon in the sky.  Next, I came in with the darker blue to the water only.

For the sky, I sponged in a some lavender color and then went back in with a cloud template (made with a punch) and added some puffy clouds.  I sponged in a few streaks of lavender into the water, as the water reflects the color of the sky.  TIP: With this technique, you are building color with a light touch. When you press too hard, you'll have foam sponge prints. Ask me how I know? :o)

Next, I colored the lily pads using my Spectrum Noir Markers, DG1, DG2, DG3. I trimmed my scene and used the blending tool to edge it.  I placed a piece of white cardstock under my project to collect all the ink. I'll use the same piece of card stock when I blend and it can be used later for a background.  I saw this on Dina's blog and thought what a great idea!

To finish it off, I adhered to a cool background I made with Spectrum Noir refill-inks. Click here to see how I made it.
