Gladys at the Beach

Hello Ai Fans!
This week I'm working on a beach scene...still thinking about that warmer weather! :o) So is Gladys. She is looking for her friends at the beach.

I stamped Gladys (Sku#M1928) onto Cryogen cardstock.   I masked her and stamped the WC Pond (Sku#G2736). I masks the rocks, then colored the WC Swaying Palm Trees (Sku#E2713) with Marvy LePlumeII Markers direct to rubber and stamped.

I masked off the top of the scene and airbrushed the sand with E33, using a piece of torn paper for texture.

Next, I masked off the land area  with pieces of masking tape and scrap paper and airbrushed B91 starting with the water into the sky. Since the blue was lighter than the colors of the palms, I did not bother to try to mask them. I masked of the sky and deepened the color of the water with B95.

I went back in and airbrushed more texture into the sand. I then removed all the masks  and colored the rocks.   I also lightly dabbed in color where I did not have the masks adjusted just right.

Time to color Gladys!  I found a design paper that was perfect for her stylish bathing suit and hat. I'd like to say I strategically stamped the image to get that flower part of the design onto her hat, but it just came out that way. :o)  If you every do want to strategically stamp your image on design paper, use a stamp postioner to place your image exactly where you want it.   I used glaze and glitter pens to add detail to her hat, jewelry, glasses and some ripples in the water. I added a little shading on her bathing suit with C1.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the palm trees and a sentiment I made on my computer.

Thanks for visiting!

Take care and STAY POSITIVE!
