New Sheena Sneak Peek!!

For the next few days the Crafter's Companion Education Team is going to be featuring designs with a new release called A Taste of India from Sheena!   This images is from Tiger Tiger.

I stamped this fabulous tiger image onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and then placed a mask over him to build the scene around him.

To build color I am sponging with Distress Ink Pads.  Using masking and varying color, you can create a whole scene around one image. I'm starting at the top and working my way down.  Using a torn pieced of paper to give interest to the sky, tumbled glass ink and a sponge, I pulled color across the card in a horizontal direction- I actually turned the cardstock 90 degrees and pull the color from the "top to the bottom" - which is really side to side in the scene.

Next for some foliage/greenery way off in the distance of the background, I chose crushed olive and forest moss.

For the ground, I sponged in frayed burlap and tea dye. I pulled in color from the sides, leaving a highlight in the enter. I also pressed harder with some strokes to give a little bit of line and texture. At this point I was finished with the back ground so I removed the mask over the tiger.

To fill in color on the tiger, I used a stylus to apply spiced marmalade.   For detail areas such as his eyes, add shading, and to sharpen some colors, I used Spectrum Noir blendable colored pencils (008, 046, 049, 074, 092).
