Bebunni Bling

My design today features the Bebunni Floral release images and brand new die cuts.

The image is from the Bebunni Floral EZMount Stamp Set - Bloom & Grow. I stamped onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and colored with the fabulous new Spectrum Aqua Markers

For the daisy, I used a combination of direct coloring to the cardstock and also pallet coloring using Spectrum Aqua Markers yellow, jasmine. For pallet coloring, I scribbled the darker color on a piece of plastic, picked it up with a lighter color marker. As you color, the marker lightens and creates a nice blending effect. To clean off tip, color on a piece of scrap paper. NOTE: Since I was coloring onto regular cardstock vs. watercolor paper, I was careful not to lay down too much color so I would not saturate the paper. The Spectrum Aqua Markers are so rich, you only need a small amount.

For the bunni I used a waterbrush - damp, not saturated - to pick up color off the plastic. Colors used: Spectrum Aqua Markers tan, blossom. I used a light touch and build layers, allowing the first layer to dry, then went back in the areas I wanted to darken.

The stem was colored with Spectrum Aqua Markers bud green. I added a bit more shading to the bunni and filled in the ground with Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencil 114.

The adorable butterflies and bumble bee are from Bebunni Floral Metal Dies - Butterfly and Bee. I left them in the die and colored through the holes with Spectrum Aqua Markers black, rose pink. After I popped them out of the die, I edged each piece with the Spectrum Aqua Markers black to make them pop against the white background. NOTE: Happy accident - you'll see a little bit of white on one of the butterflies. That's left over from another project. I liked it and left it.

Before layering the white cardstock onto Shimmering Cardstock rose pearl, I edged it with the Spectrum Aqua Markers black. I added Stickles star dust to the bee's wings and center of the daisy for some sparkle.

When I get new coloring supplies, I create a color combo chart. I find it helpful when I'm looking for that perfect color.
