This bold, sweet design features an image from one of the newly released Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy line. I find her new release quite artsy. There's so many things you can do with birds! I chose to highlight these cute little birds on a limb from the Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy EZMount Stamp Set - King For A Day
I stamped the images onto vellum cardstock and allowed it to dry completely - you can see where I smudged a little. I was ready to color - the ink was not. :) I then colored them with my Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils. I started with the branch and used 092. I held the pencil close to the tip and gave a bit of firm pressure for the darker areas - the outside of the branch. For the center of the branch, I used a light touch

Next, I chose colors for the birds - I wanted them to be bright and fun - 013, 048, 065, 086, 071. I laid down all the colors on one bird, without blending.
Then came back in with 065, my lightest blue to blend all the colors. I used a light touch and a combination of flicking lines in the direction of the feathers and also small circles to blend.
I ran the vellum cardstock through my Xyron sticker maker, adhered to a piece of Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and fussy cut out the birds. For the background layer, I used Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and the 6" X 6" Embossalicious Embossing Folder - Clouds to create the illusion of big fluffy clouds behind the birds.
On the inside I added a sentiment from Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy EZMount Stamp Set - Free As A Bird. I added color with 048 and 071.
Thank you for visiting!!
Take care and STAY POSITIVE!
