New Brambly Hedge Now Available!

The new Brambly Hedge release is available today! My design features images The High Hills.

The new release includes:
* 4 Rubber Stamp sets
* Two CD-ROMs

The main image stamped onto Kraft Cardstock and colored with Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored PencilsSpectrum Noir Paper Stumps, and Spectrum Noir Blending Solution.  For small areas, I really dig the pencils. I used the packaging for color inspiration.

 I colored one section at a time, coloring on the edge with the darkest color, lightly towards the center of a section with the lighter color, and then blended with a very small amount of solution, and a light touch, in small circles. In smaller areas, I only used the pencils, blending with the lightest color. NOTES: (1) When I have a image that has lots of coloring, I like to color all of one color/combination of shades at the same time. (2) I put my blending solution in a small container with a sponge to control how much I pick up. (3) I use different size stumps and when I change colors, I sharpen the stump on the Spectrum Noir Paper Stump Sander

Brambly Hedge Sneak Peek!

I'm sharing a sneak peek from the new Brambly Hedge release coming later this month. This adorable swinging mouse (I call him Tarzan Mouse) is from the Sea Story set.
Spectrum Noir Blending Solution I colored one section at a time, coloring on the edge with the darkest color, lightly towards the center of a section with the lighter color, and then blended with a very small amount of solution and a light touch in small circles. In smaller areas, I used only the pencils, blending with the lightest color. NOTE: I put my blending solution in a small container with a sponge to control how much I pick up.

.
Next, time for the sky. I masked the mouse with a low tack tape and made clouds using the new eBrush System with Spectrum Noir Markers.

What a cool tool - a wonderful way to add color! I have so many ideas for backgrounds... I used TB8 and a piece of torn paper to create streaks of  clouds in the sky.

Before removing the mask, I stamped the large tree are from Sheena's A Little Bit Scenic - Pinescape using Distress Ink Pads - pine needles, mowed lawn.

I sprayed the base card with the same cloud bands, extended his rope with a fine line marker, and added a sentiment from another new Brambly Hedge set, High Hills.

New Art-Kure - Available Now!

My design today features the new Art-Kure image White House.  There are 12 new, beautiful images in this release - available today!

With this technique, I cut my cardstock to size first. This results in a beautiful crisp edge. The image was stamped onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and colored with Memento Ink Pads and Ink Sweepers. The method to this coloring technique is building up color. For the first layer I used the Memento Ink Refill summer sky to create a nice wet, blending surface. I pulled the sweeper from the outside working in with a light touch, and leaving light in the center. Next I used the same color ink pad and went around a few times.

I continued using the same method with darker shades of blue - bahama blue was next. With each change of color, I went around a few times and tried to go into the center a little less.

I added a subtle light in the windows 011 and a touch of red 024 to the flag with Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils. A little Stickles star dust provided a nice layer of snow on the bushes and trees.
