This month's Crafter's Companion Challenge theme is Autumn. I love the colors of fall in the Midwest! I traveled to Michigan last weekend and saw some beautiful hues along the highway. In my MI fall inspired design, I'm featuring images from Sheena'a A Little Bit Sketchy EZMount Stamp Set - Optimism.
The background is made using a homemade stencil of different size squares. I ran all the squares from Die'sire Essentials Squares through my eBosser onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock - all at one time! :) Love that large cutting area. I can use both the positive and negative pieces.
The main image stamped onto Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock with Memento LUXE Ink Pad tuxedo black, sprinkled with emboss powder and heat set. I colored with Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils 013, 022, 026, 056, and cut it out using the largest square from Die'sire Essentials Squares.
On the way to creating the main image, I found a 'happy accident' as some people call it. I like to say I found a new technique. :o) My ink pad needed some inking. I was a bit over zealous in adding ink and put too much. As I was stamping off, I found I really like the images that were 'over inked.' I stamped individual images with various amounts of ink onto several pieces of cardstock and on a piece of copy paper. I'll save that and add color, maybe even use it on my Gelli Plate...oh, my background idea wheels are turning!!
