I have been so ready for spring and I really wanted to design something spring related. :o) This cute set worked out perfectly! I sprayed the envelop with a mini mister filled with ink, Perfect Pearls and water (Shout out to Tim Holtz for the recipe) over a word stencil (Mini Art Is).
I sprayed cardstock in the same way. I stamped WC Birdhouses (Sku#P3377) in solvent ink on the card stock, and stamped T- K1590 Birdhouse Postage and J1589 Birdhouse From on the envelop.
I colored the the birdhouses first using a combination of indirect and direct method. I picked a combination of light and dark colors in the same color family. For the indirect method, I scribbled the darker color on the pallet and used the lighter color to pick up the darker color and color the image. For the direct method, I colored directly onto the image, using the lighter color to blend between the two colors.
Before coloring the envelop, I slipped in a piece scrap cardstock so the color would not bleed though. I colored direct, being careful not to apply to much ink in one area.
I trimmed the image and layered it over some cute bird themed design paper.
