This week's Art Impressions Blog challenge is "It's in the Bag/Box" - Make a paper bag/box. I'm using Birthday Gal Front and Back (Sku#U3199) to help decorate a box that I made with my Ultimate Tool. Looks like she's popping out of the cake. :o)
The first thing I did was to pick out my papers/cardstock for the box. I'm using design paper for the lid and red cardstock for the base. To reinforce the lid, I glued it to a piece of white cardstock. I cut the size to 8" x 8". I stamped the birthday gal's front randomly on the inside of the box lid, and also added some dots with a marker. To score the sides for the box and lid, I followed the easy directions that came with my Ultimate Tool.
Next, I used the lid design paper and my Copic favorite combo chart to choose the colors I wanted for the image. I drew a simple tier cake to set go with the front side of the image, and colored that too. I cut out all the images and edged them with a black water based marker.
I used a liquid adhesive to adhere the images while the lid was flat. Lastly, I glued the box sides and used clips to hold them in place while they dried completely. All set for a little gift for the real Birthday gal!
